It's August!?

This year has gone by so fast. I really can't believe it's August. I baked a cake today. Just because. Yellow cake, strawberry icing. I never thought I would become one of "those women". Baking for no reason. Other than just to bake. My mama used to do it. She probably still does. I never understood it. I do now. I made dinner, too. Chili cheese dog pot pie. And it was a hubby-hit. (Anna when recipe Friday gets here it's coming your way.) Craig described it's goodness by saying he would buy it in a restaurant. He doesn't eat sweets. So I made a whole cake to eat by myself. Even if I don't end up eating it, I'm ok with that. 'Cause I got enjoyment out of just baking it. Mom says to find enjoyment out of one thing each day. My pessimistic attitude on not having a job has sometimes taken over. My enjoyment today was baking a cake. On my own. And not screwing it up. :) That is all.
