a new move

Blogger has been pissing me off for quite some time now when it comes to posting pictures and having to manually put the breaks into my paragraphs, which apparantly still aren't working. So I've become a follower and converted to wordpress. I'm still in the process of importing all of my blogger entries. But that hasn't gone so well, and out of frustration I've taken a break from trying. So I have a new blog for a new chapter in life. Here it is:

a conversation between Craig and my mom this weekend, standing in the guest bedroom: mom: so this can be my bedroom when I come over? craig: yeah, this will be your room if you get drunk. mom: oh, great. i gotta get drunk to spend the night. a conversation between my mom and Craig, standing in my scrapbook room: craig: and this can be your room when you get old mom: i gotta be old to stay in this room, and i gotta be drunk to stay in the other? god, i love them. i'm cracking up as I type this out. we move in 4 days!!! i can't believe it's almost here. it's bugging us that some things aren't completely finished. but they are small things here and there, so we should be fine. i can't believe all that craig is capable of doing. and even if he doesn't know how to do something going into it, he's going to figure it out. i love that about him. we had some help from my dad's friend putting down hardwood in our kitchen. craig worked his butt off. here's two pictures from this weekend:
our kitchen, with the hardwood floors, still need to do the molding on the sides
our guest bedroom, we used the closet doors in my scrapbook room for the headboard

fried bananas

Craig and I took a break from packing tonight to run up the street to eat Chinese. Normally, we get takeout from there. We don't eat inside. When you eat inside you get dessert. It was really yummy, I wanted to know what it was called.

When we went to the cashier to check out, the conversation (which was really intelligent on my part) went something like this:

Chinese woman: HOw was everyting? (haha, ok I'm sorry I'll leave out the accent)
Me: It was really good! What are those fried banana things called?
Chinese woman: (blank look) Uh huh.
Me: Yeah, but what are they called?
Chinese woman: Fried Bananas.

REal Smooth Kristen. Nice. At least I had Craig to laugh with me.

officially packing

We started packing tonight. We got 3 boxes packed and a bag of trash collected before we called it a night. But it was a start.
And my Peanut came through surgery fine. :)
Craig has a big appointment tomorrow to get checked off his list to clear. He's turning in his gear and everything the Army has issued, right down to goggles and gloves! Which means it's becoming more real. He met with a career counselor today and got some really good options. And we've talked a lot tonight about what comes next. Exciting!
These next few days/week and a half are going to be busy. I need to get ready for it. And then I start my job on September 5th! Life is good! :)

another house update

On a side note, my little girl is having work done on her mouth tomorrow. She has some teeth rotting in the back that they need to pull (or they could end up making her sick) and they're also going to clean her teeth. To do this, they need to put her to sleep. It's funny how attached you get to these animals. It seems like a routine thing, but I'm so worried about her. I can't wait to get a phone call from my mama to tell me she's bringing her home.

My new paintings for my scrapbook room that my mama bought me... The turtle Craig found in the woods. He decided he needed to cool off in the air conditioning. And he seemed to actually like it. My scrapbook room! Craig working hard in the bathroom.

Erica's Wedding

This weekend was awesome. Erica's wedding was beautiful and she looked GORGEOUS! I've been editing them in Photoshop tonight and playing around with them. I'm not done yet, but I wanted to post some that I had finished with.
